After School/Workout Mix
Time Required: 10 (10 min. total)

This recipe will provide a framework to plug in your favorites food items for each category.  We used corn chex for cereal, brazil nuts and almonds for nuts, chopped dried apricots, cranberries and mango for fruit, and butterscotch chips.  You can just follow what we made, or make your own unique trail mix for a quick burst of energy.


2 cup(s) corn chex cereal
1 1/2 cup(s) nuts
2 tsp soy sauce
1 cup(s) dried fruit
1/2 cup(s) butterscotch chips -- can be replaced with dried date pieces


1.  Cut larger nuts and pieces of dried fruit so that they are between 1/4 and 1/2” square.

2.  Roast nuts on stove top or under broiler.  Sprinkle and toss with a soy sauce when done; cool completely.

3.  Combine all ingredients in an airtight container.  To serve, place in a bowl with serving spoon.
