Pie Crust
Serves:
Time Required: 20 (20 min. total)

Feel like baking?  The difference between a store bought and home made pie crust is like home made bread verses everything else,  so it is worth the time and effort.  Whole wheat flour would be a great choice of course, but just know that the taste of the wheat will be strong in a pie crust.

Ingredients:

2 cup(s) flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup(s) butter
1/4 cup(s) water

Directions

1.  Put flour and salt in a mixing bowl.  Put water in a seperate, small bowl and add a few ice cubes. Set aside.

2.  Cut butter into flour with two knives.

3.  While the mixer is going add water 1 Tbsp. at a time ( approx. 5-6) just until all flour comes together and forms a ball of dough.

4.Lightly flour a flat surface and roll dough into a 12” circle.

5.  Roll the dough over the top of the rolling pin and transfer to pie plate.

6.  Cut edges which overhang the sides evenly and pinch dough all the way around.

7.  Store in refrigerator until ready to fill and bake.
